Burning, Painful or Frequent Urination? You Might Have a UTI

A urinary tract infection (UTI) happens when bacteria enter the urinary system (including the bladder, urethra and the kidneys,) and cause inflammation.  Anybody can get a UTI but is most common in women. Most UTIs are mild but can get worse if left untreated. To tackle a UTI, you need antibiotics. Fortunately, you can now get treatment for a UTI without having to see the GP.

That's where we come in, advising you on the best treatment action without you leaving work or home! Our registered pharmacy partners are free to video call you to assess your symptoms and see if you need antibiotics. If you have any of the following symptoms, please message us on WhatsApp.

Symptoms of a UTI may include:

  • pain/burning sensation when peeing (dysuria)
  • needing to pee more often than usual
  • needing to pee more often than usual during the night (nocturia)
  • needing to pee suddenly or more urgently than usual
  • pee that looks cloudy or smells or darker than normal
  • blood in your pee
  • lower tummy pain or pain in your back, just under the ribs
  • a high temperature, or feeling hot and shivery
  • a very low temperature below 36C
